About Me

Education and Training

I received my Master’s Degree in Social Work with a concentration in Children, Youth and Families at Washington University in St. Louis.  I also am a graduate of Dartmouth College and Harvard Law School.

I completed the Advanced Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Program at St. Louis Psychoanalytic Institute, a two-year advanced training program in the theory and practice of psychodynamic psychotherapy.  I also completed a two-year clinical internship at St. Louis Psychoanalytic Institute’s Schiele Clinic and a one-year academic and clinical residency at Care & Counseling.  I also hold a certificate from the National Institute for the Psychotherapies’ one-year Integrative Trauma Program.

I continually am deepening and broadening my knowledge and skills through education programs, study groups, and the preparation and presentation of talks on a variety of topics.  I also write a monthly blog for Psychology Today entitled “Chronically Me: The Emotional Landscape of Chronic Illness.”
